TEN STEPS TO HEALTHY EATING and its impact on my life
Short statements of how people changed their eating habits through Karin's classes and/or her work- and cookbook "NUTRITION AWARENESS — TEN STEPS TO HEALTHY EATING"

TEN STEPS TO HEALTHY EATING and it's Impact on my Life
Tiredness used to rule my life. Not any more!!! I grew up with a kidney problem, which caused me to feel exhausted more often than not. I was prescribed a low-grade antibiotic for many years that may have aided my exhaustion. Toddler, child, teenager, mother - tiredness ruled all phases of my life.
In 1999 I enrolled in a healthy cooking class with Karin Puttner advertised in our local newspaper. The first evening we were encouraged to switch to whole grains and were shown how to make whole-grain muesli with a variety of grains, fruits and nuts. I began having this muesli each day and the effect was remarkable. One week into my new breakfast regime, when I was unloading my grocery shopping, I realized with great joy that I was literally bounding up the stairs when previously I could hardly drag myself and my load of groceries inside. I never thought such a level of energy was possible and now it was mine! My 2-year-old son quickly adapted to this new breakfast and commented with, "Oh this is yummy." I found myself looking forward to class each week, eager to discover the next step to healthy eating.

Dear Karin and Otmar, thank you again for the wonderful stay
Thank you again for the wonderful stay I had with you and Otmar at your place in Auckland. I truly enjoyed this time, and it was very special in the sense that through you, I discovered a new way of eating & living. Glad to let you know that my skin problems improved visibly and I feel in good shape. I continue to avoid animal proteins and try and eat lots of fruits, veggies and yummy, healthy food. I must admit, however, that I miss your delicious creations — because of my job and the heavy travelling, I often eat in hotels and restaurants and they simply can't compete with your cuisine. Try to open a restaurant in New Zealand so that at least New Zealanders will be happy!

I first met Karin at a bread making class
Through this informative and fun class I became more and more interested in the knowledge Karin has to share about "proper" healthy eating. I attended several of her classes and haven't look back since. My husband suffers from extreme tiredness and depression. Since changing our diet both of these conditions have improved greatly and now my husband is converted! We had been eating this "new" way for sometime before deciding to try for a family. I got pregnant immediately and I have not had any health problems or much sickness throughout my whole pregnancy. Karin has a wealth of knowledge and is a wonderful teacher.

I have taken many of Karin's cooking & nutritional courses & she has been very inspirational & I have enjoyed them immensely
She has educated me on what is in everyday food that we eat & taught me a whole new way of living & passing good nutrition habits onto my children because as I am Maori I am in fact in a high risk area & my mother died of cancer of the liver & also had sugar diabetes that was diagnosed 4 years before she died & my husbands mother had a massive heart attack & died suddenly so eating healthy is a must for us & needs to start somewhere. I have also seen how easy the transition to healthy eating can be - we were a family that ate foods full of sugar & I am so thankful that I met Karin & am now an aware consumer & read the food labels. Also it is in fact much cheaper to eat healthy; it's about changing a mindset & empowering people to make healthy choices, Karin has done this for my family. I would recommend her courses to anyone & her passion with educating others & passing on knowledge speaks for itself. Thanks Karin from us all…
